When the Peer Network was created in 2004, then-AAMDC President Jack Hayden said that, “municipal staff and councillors have a great deal to learn in the first few years, and this program gives them easy access to the support and advice of others who have gone through similar experiences.”

Building Intra-council Cooperation

“We have a problem with our council. We cannot get along and are not able to make many decisions because of this. What can we do?” This is a question that comes up when a council cannot co-operate or work effectively together. The issue of council co-operation has been around as long as there have been municipal councils.
